Hussien's journey is a perfect example of what consistent training, patience and long term development can achieve.

When Hussien started coaching with Rehab Hamdy in 2022, he was preparing for his very first Sprint Triathlon. Like many age-group athletes, he had to balance demanding business responsibilities, frequent travel, and family life while raising two children. Despite these challenges, Hussien remained one of the most dedicated and committed athletes throughout his journey.

On May 13, 2022, Hussien completed his first Sprint Triathlon in 1:42:00, swimming 750m at an average pace of 2:38/100m, cycling 20km at 23.8 km/h, and running 5km at 5:44/km.

Following a structured block-periodized training approach, we focused on building his aerobic foundation, improving swim efficiency, developing cycling fitness. Just six months later, Hussien successfully completed his first Olympic Distance Triathlon in approximately 3 hours.

Over the following year, we continued to develop his cycling power, endurance, and off-the-bike running performance. The improvements were significant. In his second Olympic Distance race, Hussien finished in 2:20:00, averaging 36 km/h on the bike and 4:22/km for the 10km run.

With a strong foundation established, we set our sights on longer distances and prepared for his first Half Ironman 70.3 in Egypt in 2023. Hussien crossed the finish line in 6 hours, gaining valuable experience and identifying the areas that would become the focus of the next phase of development.

From there, we worked systematically on his limitations, including race execution, nutrition strategy, endurance durability, and pacing. The results became evident in November 2024 when Hussien delivered a breakthrough performance at T100 Dubai, finishing in an impressive 4:46:00.

After a short off-season to recover and reset, we began another structured training cycle focused on the next challenge: IRONMAN 70.3 Turkey 2025. Every aspect of the race was carefully prepared, from swim efficiency and bike power production to fueling strategies and run durability.

The result was another outstanding performance, with Hussien finishing in 5:03:00, demonstrating the progress achieved through years of consistent work and intelligent training.

Today, Hussien's journey reflects the power of long-term athlete development. From completing his first Sprint Triathlon to becoming a multiple age-group podium finisher and a sub-5-hour Half Ironman athlete, he has shown that with dedication, consistency, and the right coaching approach, remarkable progress is possible even while balancing business, travel, and family commitments.
