HomeMicheal Zaki
When Michael joined Rehab Hamdy Coaching, his goal was not simply to train harder, but to train smarter. As a software engineer with a busy professional schedule, consistency was already a challenge. The arrival of his first baby in December added a new level of responsibility, making the balance between work, family, recovery, and training more demanding than ever.
Our approach focused on rebuilding his aerobic foundation, developing sustainable endurance, and improving cycling-specific strength and power. Through a structured-based training process, we gradually increased training load while respecting the realities of his lifestyle and recovery demands.
Over nine months of consistent work, Michael achieved a 9% increase in bike power, significantly improving his cycling performance and overall race efficiency. At the same time, focused run development and brick training resulted in a 10-minute improvement in his off-the-bike run performance, allowing him to run stronger and more efficiently after the bike leg.
Michael's journey demonstrates that meaningful performance gains are possible even when balancing career growth, family commitments, and the life-changing experience of becoming a parent. Through consistency, patience, and structured coaching, he continues to build toward his long-term endurance goals.
Our next milestone is to successfully progress through the 70.3 distance and a full marathon, building the experience, durability, and confidence required for longer events. The long-term vision is to ultimately complete a Full Ironman, taking a patient and sustainable approach to ensure he is fully prepared both physically and mentally when the time comes.
